Electrical Installation

Condition Reports

As a registered member of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC), 3L Electrical are able to offer a comprehensive electrical testing and inspection service which incorporates commenting upon the condition of fixed wiring within a range of different premises.

Our scope of works includes providing a professional opinion of the condition of the installation by visual inspection and an instrument test of the fixed wiring/electrical installation where accessible.

The testing and inspection will entail recording the following details:

  • Details of the client

  • Details of the installation and characteristics of the supply at its origin

  • Visual inspection

  • Circuit Protective Conductor Continuity Test

  • Ring Circuit Continuity Test

  • Insulation Resistance Test

  • Polarity Check

  • Earth Fault Loop Impedance Test

  • Prospective Short Circuit Currents

  • Operation of Residual Current Devices

Once the testing and inspection is complete, all the information gauged from the inspection and testing will be collated and certified documentation issued detailing all instrument test results and any defects found.

All observations and recommendations will be recorded and a code marked against each point as follows:

Code C1: Danger Present
Code C2: Potentially Dangerous
Code C3: Improvement Recommended

Depending upon the condition of the installation and the results of the testing, our engineer will then make an overall assessment of the installation as being either "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory".

Each Distribution Board tested will be provided with an adhesive label that will indicate the date of testing and the recommended date of the next inspection.
